Coaching is future facing – it is a partnership where I will support you in removing blockages, things that are getting in your way of achieving your full potential. Through shifting perspectives, you begin to open to new opportunities and see more clearly the paths available to you. By establishing new habits you are able bring into reality the things you would like to achieve and/or the changes you would like to make.
It may also be helpful to define coaching by pointing out what it is not:
- It is not counselling, which holds the space for the client to work through present issues.
- It is not therapy, where the therapist helps the client make the connection between the present and past patterns to make freer choices.
- It is not analysis, which delves into past events to understand the roots of current behaviourial traits and thought patterns.
(Of course, there are deeper nuances to each of these other fields. These are my lay definitions of the above – to point out the difference of coaching.)
If during the coaching sessions it becomes clear that it would be helpful to look into counselling, therapy or analysis to work something through, I will support you in making that choice.
My Coaching Experience
My coaching journey began in January 2018, thanks to the suggestion of my sister, Lydia. I reached out to Margaret, an experienced coach from the UK with an academic background. I knew I needed to work with someone who understood the professional setting I came from and the specific pressures involved in that type of work. From that programme, I learned new ways of thinking and acquired tools and resources to approach work and life from a different perspective. The progress was exponential – I was amazed by the difference in my attitude and the results I was getting.
I took the decision to train the same year. I am a qualified One of Many women’s coach and currently have clients in France, Switzerland and the UK – I am passionate about my work. I am fortunate to be part of a coaching community, which is incredibly important for sharing expertise, experiences and for continuing professional development. I offer online and face-to-face coaching for individuals, small groups (max 12) and intensive VIP days in Nice, where I live – these approaches provide very different experiences for the coachee but each produces transformational results.
